If something happens out of the blue, it happens unexpectedly as if it has fallen from the sky, or in this case the ether. The radiant blues in this painting came to me quite literally out of the blue. I love it when spontaneity occurs and magic happens right there on the painting. Blue flowers are always a favourite!
