I love working with alcohol inks and creating loose, fun paintings. I've often painted in a very planned, controlled manner but using a medium such as ink has really provided an opportunity to loosen up which was my goal!

SO LET'S TALK INKS AND OTHER STUFF, SHALL WE?

One good thing about deciding to work with a medium such as alcohol inks is that they are relatively inexpensive to get started with. Comparatively, oil paints, canvases, and good brushes can cost quite a bit for the beginning artist or hobbyist.

You will find it easy to pick up some good inks either online or at your local craft store. I've listed some of the most widely known and well-used ink products below. I started with purchasing a small selection of different coloured inks and some Yupo paper (more information on this is listed below).

This painting is actually one of the very first I created using alcohol inks. Let's take a look at some of the products I purchased to create this and many others.
